We had a FANTASTIC fall day for this family shoot. I don’t think it could have gotten much better. I don’t have any twins in my family and it’s amazing to me how twins can have such different personalities, Camron is so laid back while sister Caleigh has the determination of I totally admire mom Carrie for her juggling skills, she rocks! As a side note dad, Scott, owns an adverting agency in Livonia called Echo Media. If anyone is in need of marketing help, Scott and his crew are super talented and really nice people to work with.

I happen to know a few two-year-old boys and there are things they all have in common. They love their dads, they love Spiderman, and they love to play outside. Collin was no exception. I had a great time chasing him around Mill Race Park and once we got to the play structure it was all over! He had a blast playing on all of the equipment with his mom and dad. The funny thing about Collin is he has such adult expressions. Then, as if to humor me, he would turn to me and smile. I think he thought if he gave me a little smile I would leave him alone.

Daniel was full of smiles for his photo session, well mostly ; ) He is also very active little boy with a mind of his own…much like any other two year old. I love this age with kids because everything is new and exciting. He is too cute for words and I had a great time photographing him.

I shot David and Erin’s engagements back in May and I was SOOOOOO excited to shoot at their family farm again. It is such a cool place with a ton of old barns and machinery. I have to say I was totally bummed that it was so cold, but David, Erin and their bridal party were troopers and let me get everything I wanted : )
I think my favorite moment of the day included neither the bride nor the groom. It rained while the ceremony was going on and everyone was supposed to have a hayride back to the farm, so all the guys in the bridal party were trying to flip over the bales of hay so that they would not be wet to sit on. They were having an awfully hard time, struggling to lift and turn each one over. That’s when Erin’s grandpa, a true farmer, came over and in 2 seconds showed them the proper technique for bale flipping : ) I have no idea why I find that so amusing, maybe it’s because he reminded me so much of my grandpa, a farmer thru and thru.
Another cool moment…the groom drove the tractor back to the farm! He said he had been practicing, I have to say I was impressed.

We took Madison’s senior pictures at Mill Race Park in Northville. She already had her yearbook poses done and wanted some casual outdoor shots as well. It was a perfect day, a little overcast that produced a real even light. She was really easy to shoot and I am thrilled with the way they turned out! I don’t take a lot of seniors, but this shoot makes me want to do more, I loved it.

The McDanial siblings all got together for a surprise shoot for their parents. I actually made a calendar as a Christmas present for them from the pictures. I love surprises like this because I know that the parents (especially the mom’s) are going to love it. We met at Mill Race park in Northville and it was a warm fall day. We took a ton of different groupings to be sure we had pictures for all of the month pages, and the shoot whet really well. Oh yeah…Go Green!

Beth truly enjoyed her entire wedding! We captured so many pictures where she was laughing and smiling. Even though I’m sure she was, she did not look nervous at all! Mike is awesome and together they make a fantastic couple. They were married at Our Lady of the Woods church in Woodhaven and their reception was held at Crystal Gardens in Southgate. In between we went to Heritage Park in Taylor. I love shooting at Heritage Park because it is sooo big and there are so many great textures to work with. Usually in my blog posts I try to include shots that show off great locations, unique poses, beautiful lighting, etc. For Mike and Beth’s pic’s I decided to use some of my favorites of them laughing—it seemed to be the theme of the day : )

John and Jessica held their reception at Fern Hill Country Club. For those who what not been there in a while they have spent some time and money into redecorating and the changes really look good.
John and Jessica were married at.. and in between ceremony and reception we stopped at the Clinton Township civic center park and took pictures. It was a nice little park and since we had some time it was nice and relaxing. I also got to work with Aaron Deckrow and his wife Renee from Captured Productions he is an amazing videoagropher and I highly recommend him to anyone searching. He is extremely talented and super easy to work with.
John and Jessica had a beautiful day and from start to finish they were a pleasure to be around. Congratulations to you both.

One of my favorite things about shooting weddings is that I get to document one of the happiest days of a person’s life. Weddings are always emotion-filled and because I don’t know the couple that well, I can usually take a step back and capture the emotion without getting overwhelmed by it. It’s a little embarrassing to admit that during Kelly and Dennis’ ceremony I had tears running down my face. Kelly, Dennis and their daughter feel truly blessed with each other and that was abundantly clear during their ceremony. It was moving, special and something that everyone involved will remember forever. I wish the three of them the best of luck and even with blurry eyes I hope I managed to capture some of the feelings from the day.
Dennis and Kelly were married at Kensington Community Church in Troy and held their reception at Petruzzello’s.
