David & Erin — 10/27/08
June 12th, 2008
I shot David and Erin’s engagements back in May and I was SOOOOOO excited to shoot at their family farm again. It is such a cool place with a ton of old barns and machinery. I have to say I was totally bummed that it was so cold, but David, Erin and their bridal party were troopers and let me get everything I wanted : )
I think my favorite moment of the day included neither the bride nor the groom. It rained while the ceremony was going on and everyone was supposed to have a hayride back to the farm, so all the guys in the bridal party were trying to flip over the bales of hay so that they would not be wet to sit on. They were having an awfully hard time, struggling to lift and turn each one over. That’s when Erin’s grandpa, a true farmer, came over and in 2 seconds showed them the proper technique for bale flipping : ) I have no idea why I find that so amusing, maybe it’s because he reminded me so much of my grandpa, a farmer thru and thru.
Another cool moment…the groom drove the tractor back to the farm! He said he had been practicing, I have to say I was impressed.
