Maximus is at the perfect age for photographs. At seven months old he can sit up by himself, yet he can’t crawl away! It’s kind of like he’s at my mercy. The fact is for as many outfit and backdrop changes he was put through he did a GREAT job. There are so many wounderful shots from this session it’s had to pick just a few for the blog. Brad and Lora have an absolutly beautiful backyard, and I just love the colors outside. They were also so flexible and open to ideas, thanks so much!

Ten-month-old Elena was so full of personality! She was a pleasure to photograph even when she was crawling away form me–which she spent the better part of the session doing. It was so much fun following her around and trying to capture those great moments where everything comes together. The best part about the session was Elena’s parents really wanted to capture her true self interacting with her environment and the really amazing and special things she does everyday. I find it provides many more opportunities for great images when you allow a baby to be themselves and not force them into a formal posed backdrop. Great job Elena, and a big thanks to her wonderful parents.

The Drummond family was an extended family session with members from all parts of the US. They were all in town for a family wedding at Henry Ford Estates and wanted to have portraits taken while everyone was together. I think it’s so important to do this. Rarely does a family get together, especially when they are spread across the county. It had been a rainy week I’m so glad that the weather broke for a little bit in the morning and we were able to take some nice family shots.

My husbands aunt participated in the Breast Cancer 3-Day to benifit the the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. As part of a fundraising effort I auctioned off a portrait package of a sitting at a local park and a large selection of prints. The Woodard girls are too cute and I think the shoot went great. Thanks to Laura Woodard for placing the high bid and thanks to Aunt Jeaneettee for being such an inspiration and a strong survivor.

James and Lindsay were married at dusk at Fern Hill Country Club. Guests enjoyed the beautiful ceremony outside and the reception immediately followed inside the country club. Lindsay was an gorgeous bride, the excitement showed on her face the entire night! I am so happy with what we were able to capture with the bride and groom after the ceremony. With the rain coming and night falling I think our timing was just perfect.

Jennifer & Kevin’s engagement photos were take at Bell Isle in Downtown Detroit. The session went great and we were so happy to be able to do this for them. Belle Isle is a great place to shoot and there were lots of opportunities for beautiful photographs. I think my favorite part was pulling over on the way out and catching the sun setting with the Detroit skyline in the background.

This was an extended family shoot at Henry Ford Village. One of the family members is headed to Europe to serve our country as an embassy guard and the family wanted photographs taken before he left for three years. I can’t believe how HOT is was that day, but we all made it through. I think my favorite part was that Mr. and Mrs. Moran have been married all these years and still held each others hand the entire time.

This is the fourth time I’ve taken photographs of Dylan and the fist time outdoors. We both had a blast, and he is so easy to photograph. Little ones have so much fun exploring new places and I love to capture that excitement. It actually makes my job easy. I can just follow them around and they always seem to have a look of wonderment on their faces. This shoot was at Henry Ford Estates on a warm summer evening.
